ON THE QUESTION OF THE TRANSLATION OF THE NOVEL «NIGHT AND DAY»

Abstract

This article examines the functions of literary translation in intercultural communication, which is due to the high theoretical significance of this problem as well as the low level of its study. It has been established that literary translation is of important practical significance in the sphere of culture and art. It is determined that the main function of literary translation is the communicative one, however it also performs cognitive, culturological, historical, axiological, developmental, regulative and educational functions.
