Abstract

This study examines the role of AI-based adaptive learning environments in higher education in assessing and enhancing students’ cognitive capabilities. It analyzes mechanisms of personalized learning pathways enabled by artificial intelligence, optimization of knowledge acquisition processes, and the development of cognitive functions such as attention, memory, thinking, and metacognition. Additionally, a model for evaluating the cognitive effectiveness of adaptive learning environments is proposed. The findings contribute to strengthening digital transformation in higher education and improving educational quality.
