NEW TECHNOLOGIES FOR THE TREATMENT OF BURNS OF THE HAND AND FOOT UNDER THE CONDITIONS OF AN ARTIFICIALLY CREATED MOIST ENVIRONMENT (LITERATURE REVIEW)

Abstract
The treatment of burn injuries of the hand and foot at present also remains one of the topical problems of modern combustiology. The healing process of a burn wound is prolonged for a long time. In the local treatment of burns of the hand and foot our aim was to assess the effectiveness of treatment under the conditions of an artificially created moist environment. All the patients under our observation had deep burn injuries of the hand and foot. The age of the patients ranged from 3 to 65 years. According to the results of the analyses, it turned out that in those treated with silvaden or dermazin ointment in the main group “under the conditions of an artificially created moist environment”, in comparison with the traditional treatment applied to the patients of the control group, the regeneration process was accelerated because of the unfavorable conditions for the survival and reproduction of microorganisms in the burn wound. The results of the cited studies and analyses showed that in deep burns of the foot area the use of “moist environmental conditions” with a chamber isolator in treatment together with the use of silvaden and dermazin ointment is highly effective, which allows the treatment method of surgical skin grafting to be carried out early and its terms to be shortened, and not only accelerates wound healing but also reduces the recent complications of skin grafting.
