Abstract

The article is devoted to the analysis of the didactic game as a most important psychological and pedagogical means of the teaching and upbringing of schoolchildren. The work examines theoretical approaches to understanding play as a phenomenon of consciousness and a form of activity, and reveals its functions in the development of pupils' cognitive processes, imagination, thinking and learning motivation.
