Abstract
The article examines the importance, as a scientific and pedagogical problem, of improving the methodological preparation of sports coaches and of developing their social and personal competence. It generalizes the views of foreign and local researchers. The principles of the professional development of sports coaches and its theoretical and pedagogical aspects are scientifically substantiated.
