THE CHOICE OF SURGICAL ACCESS IN LIVER ECHINOCOCCOSIS

Abstract
We have analyzed the results of the examination and treatment of 165 patients with liver echinococcosis admitted over the last 10 years to the general surgery clinic of Samarkand Medical University. Of the 165 operated patients with liver echinococcosis, 23 (13.94%) underwent laparoscopic removal of echinococcal cysts (through trocar approaches), and removal of echinococcal cysts through minilaparotomy was performed in 78 (47.27%) patients. In 64 (38.79%) patients, echinococcectomy of the liver was performed through a laparotomy approach. Various options of echinococcectomy were carried out. Five types of operations were used: extirpation of the cyst (pericystectomy), closed echinococcectomy, semi-closed echinococcectomy, open echinococcectomy, and omentoplasty according to Askerkhanov.
