THE STRUCTURE AND DYNAMICS OF CHRONIC DERMATOSES AMONG PERSONS OF WORKING AGE

Abstract

Relevance. Chronic dermatoses are among the most widespread skin diseases and constitute a significant medical and social problem, especially among persons of working age. A prolonged relapsing course, a high frequency of exacerbations and a pronounced influence on the quality of life of patients make it necessary to study the structure and dynamics of this pathology in order to optimize preventive and therapeutic measures. Aim. To study the structure and dynamics of chronic dermatoses among persons of working age on the basis of an analysis of clinical and statistical data. Materials and methods. A retrospective clinical-statistical study was carried out that included an analysis of the medical data of 312 patients aged from 18 to 59 years who received outpatient and inpatient treatment in a dermatovenerological department in the period 2019–2024. Diagnoses were established on the basis of clinical, dermatoscopic, laboratory and, where necessary, histological data in accordance with ICD-10. Statistical processing was performed with the use of methods of descriptive statistics. Results. Inflammatory skin diseases predominated in the structure of chronic dermatoses among persons of working age. The most frequently diagnosed were psoriasis (31.1 %), chronic eczema (24.7 %) and atopic dermatitis (18.3 %), whose combined share exceeded 70 %. The maximum prevalence of chronic dermatoses was observed in the 30–49 age group. It was established that more than half of the patients had a disease duration of over 5 years, and frequent relapses were most characteristic of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Analysis of the dynamics for 2019–2024 revealed a tendency towards an increase in the prevalence of psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. Conclusion. Chronic dermatoses are widespread among persons of working age and are characterized by a prolonged course, a high frequency of relapses and a tendency towards an increase in the prevalence of individual nosological forms. The data obtained emphasize the need to improve early diagnosis, prevention and the comprehensive management of patients with chronic dermatoses with the aim of preserving working capacity and improving quality of life.
