Main Article Content
Abstract
The article examines the specific features of translating phraseological units from Russian into Uzbek on the material of A. N. Ostrovsky's drama «The Storm». It analyses the main translation techniques used to convey the national and cultural specificity of Russian phraseological units in the Uzbek language. Typical translation difficulties associated with semantic, figurative and pragmatic non-equivalence are identified. A conclusion is drawn about the need for a functional and semantic approach in the translation of a literary text.
