FEATURES OF DEVELOPING WRITTEN TRANSLATION SKILLS WITH THE HELP OF PARALLEL AND COMPARABLE CORPORA
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article discusses the role and practical significance of parallel and comparable corpora in translation studies and in the process of teaching written translation. It is emphasized that parallel corpora serve as an important resource for increasing the accuracy of translation, expanding vocabulary and improving machine translation systems. With the help of parallel corpora it is possible to identify cultural and contextual differences in texts of different systems and to carry out a linguistic analysis of the features of natural language. The observations made in the process of teaching written translation to students by means of a corpus-based electronic dictionary are also analysed.
