Abstract

This article reveals the entry of the image of the new-thinking teacher into Turkish literature, the necessity of this, and the distinctive features in the portrayal of the image of the ideal teacher; it is noted that, through his portrayal of the teacher's image, Rashod Nuri Guntekin wished to highlight the need for literacy and for an ideological shift in society.
