THE EFFECTIVENESS OF COMBINED THERAPY FOR ACUTE PARAPROCTITIS

Abstract
Aim. To study the effectiveness of ozone therapy and of the antioxidant/antihypoxant remaxol in the complex treatment of acute paraproctitis. Materials and methods. The work is based on clinical observations of patients with acute purulent paraproctitis (n=46) divided into two groups. In the control group (n=26) the patients with paraproctitis received basic therapy (antibiotics, anti-inflammatory, detoxification, antihistamine and other drugs), while in the main group (n=20) the therapy was supplemented by intravenous administration of a 0.89% ozonised isotonic sodium chloride solution. Results. Clinical and laboratory studies established that the complex treatment of acute paraproctitis including ozone therapy and remaxol substantially increased its effectiveness in the early postoperative period, which was determined by the positive dynamics of a number of clinical and laboratory parameters. It was established that important mechanisms of the therapeutic action of ozone therapy are its ability to reduce alterative phenomena and to increase the reparative potential of tissue structures through improved microcirculation in the affected tissue structures of the wound. Conclusions. With complex therapy, a correction of a number of homeostatic indicators at the level of the organism is observed. A substantial reduction in the severity of the endogenous intoxication syndrome and a rapid restoration of the functional state of erythrocytes have been proved.
