Abstract
This article presents the important questions of recent research and theories on terms. In particular, it covers such issues as the lexical study of terms in the English and Uzbek languages, the linguocultural features of terms, the theoretical problems of translating terms, and the methodology of using terms in the English and Uzbek languages. According to researchers, a comparative knowledge of terms in linguistics and their analysis and practical use are very important for every future linguist, and this ensures effectiveness in developing students' lexical competence.
