ON FURQAT'S GHAZAL ABOUT NAVRUZ

Abstract

The traditions of Navro'z are notable for having deeply penetrated the cultural life and the spirit of our people. Therefore, in the system of our literary traditions it can be observed that the praise of spring, the description of Navro'z, the content of the legends and narratives that tell of the history of the origin of the customs connected with it, and certain historical data have been widely interpreted in both oral and written literature. In this regard, the depiction and interpretation of the customs associated with Navro'z occupy a distinctive place in the work of our classical poets, and the fact that epic poems, qasidas and ghazals dedicated to it were created attracts particular attention.
