THE PLACE OF THE CANTATA AND ORATORIO GENRES IN THE MUSICAL CULTURE OF UZBEKISTAN
Main Article Content
Abstract
The cantata and oratorio genres, like a collection, consist of independent numbers usually combined into a cycle under a common title. The oratorio-cantata genre includes large vocal-symphonic works intended for concert performance. It includes not only oratorios, cantatas and similar works for voice and for instruments, but also musical compositions for choir and soloists (accompanied and unaccompanied, a cappella). Originally it was intended for performance in church.
