Abstract

Among the staphylococcal diseases of newborns, staphylococcal sepsis represents the greatest danger. Despite the introduction of new treatment methods, primarily antibiotic therapy, mortality in sepsis continues to remain significant. All of this points to the need to apply new criteria in order to improve diagnosis and to assess the course and prognosis of the disease objectively.
