LEUKOENCEPHALOPATHY IN CHILDREN WITH ACUTE LYMPHOBLASTIC LEUKEMIA (ALL).
Main Article Content
Abstract
Leukoencephalopathy is a severe pathology characterised by damage to the white matter of the central nervous system, which often develops in children with acute lymphoblastic leukaemia (ALL) and in the course of its treatment. The risk of leukoencephalopathy in patients with ALL is associated with cytostatic chemotherapy, especially with such drugs as methotrexate. Early detection and effective treatment of this complication are of great importance for improving outcomes, minimising neurological disorders and maintaining the quality of life of children. The article analyses the pathogenesis, clinical manifestations, diagnostic methods and preventive measures of leukoencephalopathy. The importance of an individual approach and interdisciplinary management is also emphasised in this case.
