DETERMINATION OF OPTIMAL CONDITIONS FOR OBTAINING A COMPLEX OF CO3+ CATION WITH GOSSYPOL 2-AMINO 4-METHYLPYRIDINE
Main Article Content
Abstract
Schiff bases obtained on the basis of gossypol form distinctive coloured compounds with certain metals under special conditions. On the basis of these properties of gossypol compounds, they can be used as reagents for the determination of metal ions in analytical chemistry. This article studies the possibilities of using 2-amino 4-methylpyridine in carrying out the quantitative and qualitative analysis of the Co3+ cation, as well as the conditions for obtaining this complex and its properties. The optimal conditions for the formation of a complex of gossypol 2-amino 4-methylpyridine with the cobalt (III) ion were studied, namely the pH of the solution, the amount of reagent, the dependence on the buffer composition, the stability over time and the order of addition. The resulting complexes were studied by means of absorption-based spectrophotometry, IR spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy; the composition of the complexes was also analysed by the method of isomolar series, and the Me:R ratio for the complex was found to be 1:3. The results obtained from the formation of the complex were analysed and processed mathematically. According to the results obtained, it was established that the complexes formed possess moderate stability.
