Abstract

The work analyses clinical material based on the results of the comprehensive examination and treatment of 102 patients with a confirmed diagnosis of nonspecific ulcerative colitis. With the use of minimal doses of corticosteroids during plasmapheresis sessions, compared with standard therapy, remission in patients with steroid-dependent and steroid-resistant forms of nonspecific ulcerative colitis is achieved more often (from 22% to 96%), the complications of the long-term intake of corticosteroids are significantly reduced, and the possibility of a complete withdrawal of maintenance therapy is achieved, which ultimately leads to an improvement in the quality of life of this category of patients.
