THE GENESIS OF "QUSHNOMAS"

Abstract

This article examines the origin, genesis and gradual development of irfoni (mystical) epics and the principles of their development in Turkic and Persian literature. The epics of Fariduddin Attor, Gulshahriy, Alisher Navoiy, Rizoiy Payvandiy and Salohiy are analysed. The metrical features, metrical possibilities, poetic devices and rhyme systems in the epics of these authors are studied and analysed. The article also reveals the relationship between metre and content in mystical epics. It likewise responds to the views and opinions existing in literary studies. For the expressive reading of the couplets of the epics, the phenomena of vasl, imola, tag'yir and taslim are clarified. In the course of writing the study, reliance was placed on the theoretical views in such works as B. Valixo'jaev's book "From the history of Uzbek epic poetry", Arasli No'shoba's article "Gulshahriy and Navoi", Sh. Sharipov's book "The genesis and ideological-artistic features of the epic Lison ut-tayr", Sh. Hasanova's monograph "The epic Qush tili by Mavlono Xoji Qozi Payvandiy Rizoiy and its comparative-textological study" and Z. Mamadaliyeva's "The images of Lison ut-tayr: symbol and metaphor". It was established that the metres ramali musaddasi mahzuf and ramali musaddasi maqsur are convenient for works in the direction of mystical epics.
