CRITERIA FOR SELECTING THE TYPE OF HIGH-RESPONSE AUTOMATIC EXCITATION REGULATORS (ARV-SD) DURING THE MODERNIZATION AND TECHNICAL RE-EQUIPMENT OF THE EXCITATION SYSTEM OF HYDROGENERATORS IN AN ELECTRIC POWER SYSTEM
Main Article Content
Abstract
This article examines high-response automatic excitation regulators in the excitation system of hydrogenerators. Options are considered for the use of the unified electromagnetic analogue-type ARV-SD based on magnetic amplifiers installed at the Kurp-Sai hydroelectric power plant from 1981 to 2018, and of a static thyristor self-excitation system with an automatic excitation regulator (ARV) built on a microprocessor digital element base, installed at the Kurp-Sai hydroelectric power plant in 2018 after the modernisation and technical re-equipment of the hydrogenerator excitation system. The use of high-response automatic excitation regulators in the excitation system of hydrogenerators is necessary in order to increase the static and dynamic stability of the hydrogenerator and to maintain the parallel operation of the electric power system.
