Distribution of cattle trematodosis pathogens in the agroecosystems of the Fergana Valley (literature review)

Abstract
This article presents a literature-based review of the population and bioecological characteristics of the major trematode pathogens affecting cattle in the agroecosystems of the Fergana Valley, including Fasciola hepatica, Fasciola gigantica, Paramphistomum spp. and Dicrocoelium dendriticum. The life cycles of the trematodes, their intermediate hosts, their adaptation to environmental factors and the patterns of their distribution within agroecosystems were analysed. The climatic and hydrological conditions of the Fergana Valley were found to have a significant influence on the epizootiological processes of trematode infections.
