Abstract

This article examines various approaches to the devitalization of live silkworm cocoons in order to preserve the quality of silk. Different methods of devitalizing cocoons are classified and discussed. Consequently, silk production can continue without interruption throughout the year, from the cocoon stage to the new season. Our research emphasizes the importance of devitalizing live cocoons and of reducing their moisture as a pre-treatment process. The findings have clarified the significance of these methods in maintaining the required quality of silk production.
