Abstract

It is well known that the rapid growth and development of cotton plants create a favorable microclimate for phytophagous pests in cotton fields. The presence of nectaries in cultivated cotton forms additionally increases their nutritional attractiveness for pests. Aphids can transmit more than 50 different viruses to cotton plants. Moreover, their parasitism disrupts the balance of growth-regulating hormones in the host plant, causing economically significant yield loss. This article analyzes the infestation levels of thin-fiber cotton families by aphids and thrips. Based on the obtained data, families with resistance to pests were identified.
