Abstract

This article analyses the main proteins found in the hard (enamel, dentin, cementum) and soft (pulp) tissues of the tooth, their structure, biological functions and clinical significance. The important role of dental tissue proteins in regulating the mineralisation process, ensuring mechanical strength and performing protective functions is substantiated. Based on the analysis of scientific literature, the role of enamel proteins (amelogenin, enamelin), dentin proteins (collagen and matrix proteins) and pulp proteins in regeneration and the immune response is highlighted. The obtained results show that these proteins are of significant importance for use as biomarkers in dentistry and for the development of regenerative treatment methods.
