Abstract

This article describes the causes, pathogenesis, clinical signs, diagnostic methods and treatment methods of the uterine diseases most frequently encountered in animal husbandry - endometritis, metritis, hydrometra, pyometra and uterine atony. It is shown that inflammatory processes in the uterus can sharply reduce the fertility indicators of animals and may lead to the death of embryos, disturbance of foetal development, latent abortions and infertility. The pathomorphological changes in acute and chronic endometritis, the degenerative processes occurring in the uterine mucosa, cystic changes, and also uterine atony and its pathogenesis are described in detail. The effectiveness of the antibiotic therapy, uterine lavage, massage, hormonal and symptomatic treatment methods applied in these diseases is set out on a scientifically substantiated basis.
