THE ORGANIC ACID COMPOSITION OF THE AS–UBS MEDICINAL TEA
Main Article Content
Abstract
The organic acid composition of the AS-UBS medicinal tea prepared on the basis of pear (Pyrus spp.) shoots and the flower buds of the Japanese pagoda tree (Styphnolobium japonicum) was studied by means of high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). As a result of the research, oxalic, citric, tartaric and succinic acids were identified in the composition of the tea and their quantitative indicators were determined. The results obtained show that the AS-UBS medicinal tea possesses antioxidant properties, activates metabolic processes and has biologically active characteristics, and they make it possible to characterise it as a functional beverage.
