Abstract

The dynamics of the changes in the length and weight of the femur during the postnatal ontogenesis of egg-type hens were studied. It was established that certain morphometric indicators of the femur have their own particular growth dynamics during the postnatal development of hens. It was observed that the length and weight of the femur increase intensively from the first day of postnatal ontogenesis up to the 16th day, that this condition continues until the period of physiological and sexual maturation of the hens, that is, up to the 280th day, and that from the 280th to the 570th day the intensity of growth slows down in connection with the intensification of their egg-laying process. It was established that certain morphometric indicators of the femur were higher in the hens of the experimental group given the probiotic "INNOPROVET™" than in those of the control group.
