Abstract

In modern prosthetic dentistry, the functional efficiency, long service life and conformity with aesthetic requirements of dental prostheses depend to a large extent on the physico-chemical, mechanical and biological properties of the biomaterials used. This scientific article provides a theoretical analysis of the composition and structure of the biomaterials widely used in dental prosthetic practice - composites, all-ceramic and metal-ceramic systems - as well as of their anatomical and functional compatibility. The adaptation of biomaterials to the environment of the oral cavity, their mechanical stability, biological inertness and mechanical strength are described on the basis of the scientific literature. The criteria for selecting materials in various prosthetic constructions, together with their advantages and limitations, are also evaluated from a scientific and theoretical point of view. The research methodology is based on a systematic analysis of articles, monographs and dissertations published in modern scientific databases. The results obtained show that the use of biomaterials in dental prostheses plays an important role in ensuring not only aesthetic indicators but also biological compatibility and functional stability. This article serves as a scientific and theoretical foundation in the field of biomaterials science and prosthetic dentistry.
