THE APPLICATION OF PSYCHOTHERAPY TO WOMEN WITH POSTPARTUM DEPRESSION

Abstract
Postpartum depression is a mental and emotional disorder that arises in women after childbirth and is closely connected with the responsibility of motherhood, hormonal changes, sleep disturbance and a lack of social support. This article analyses the main causes and clinical manifestations of postpartum depression and the effectiveness of psychotherapy methods. Psychotherapy is an important approach, without the use of medication, directed at restoring a woman's emotional balance, at accepting the maternal role and at improving social adaptation.
