Abstract

This study assesses the influence of the components of metabolic syndrome on the severity of the course of chronic eczema in order to determine the relationship between metabolic disorders, microcirculatory changes and the clinical manifestations of the disease. The analysis was carried out by comparing patients with eczema who did and did not have metabolic syndrome. On the basis of clinical indices, biochemical indicators and laser Doppler flowmetry data, the degree of the influence of insulin resistance, dyslipidaemia and obesity on disease activity was determined. The levels of key metabolic markers, the parameters of skin microcirculation and the severity of symptoms were analysed using correlation and regression analysis. In addition, independent predictors of a severe course of eczema were identified, which is an important indicator for the development of comprehensive therapeutic and preventive strategies.
