Abstract

This study presents a comprehensive assessment of the role of oxidative stress and mitochondrial dysfunction in the progression of androgenetic alopecia and alopecia areata in order to determine their relationship with the clinical parameters of the disease. The analysis was carried out by comparing patients with different forms of alopecia and a control group. On the basis of clinical, biochemical and morphological data, the degree of oxidative damage, the severity of mitochondrial disorders and their correlation with the severity of the disease were determined. The level of lipid peroxidation, the activity of the antioxidant system and the indicators of mitochondrial function were analysed using statistical methods. In addition, specific differences between the forms of alopecia were identified, which is an important pathogenetic and prognostic indicator.
