Abstract

This article analyses the reforms being carried out in Uzbekistan in the field of improving energy efficiency and using renewable energy sources, the role of the training centres established within the framework of international cooperation and their impact. It describes the system of raising the qualifications of specialists through the training courses "Energy Manager", "Energy Efficiency of Buildings" and "Use of Renewable Energy Sources", organized in cooperation with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the German Energy Agency (DENA). It also discusses the impact of energy management, energy auditing and renewable energy technologies on the national economy. Recommendations are given on the existing problems and on the prospects for future development.
