STUDY OF FACTORS DETERMINING IMMUNITY IN STAPHYLOCOCCAL INFECTION

Abstract
The aim of the present work was to study the formation of staphylococcal antileukocidin in horses and rabbits under conditions of immunization and revaccination with native and with purified sorbed staphylococcal toxoids. In studying the biological properties of various staphylococci, strains with a high leukocidin titre and a low content of a-haemolysin were found, as well as strains containing little leukocidin and being stable producers of a-haemolysin. Native staphylococcal toxoid obtained from the leukocidin-containing white staphylococcus strain O-15, unlike the purified sorbed staphylococcal toxoid, retained the ability to induce the formation of antileukocidin in immunized animals.
