Abstract

This study examined the effect of ultraviolet irradiation (UV-C: λ = 254 nm and UV-B: λ = 300 nm) applied to mulberry leaves on their biological quality, the level of microflora and the development of the silkworm (Bombyx mori). The experiments were conducted on the basis of 6 different experimental variants under conditions of UV irradiation power of 18–90 W, the same distance (30 cm) and the same time (3 minutes). According to the results of the study, a certain degree of exposure to the combination of UV-C and UV-B improved leaf quality and increased the physiological activity of the silkworm.
