THE PROBLEM OF DOPING IN MODERN SPORT: CONSEQUENCES AND COUNTERMEASURES

Abstract
On the basis of the normative documents developed by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), international experience and the situation in the sports system of Uzbekistan, the negative consequences of the problem of doping and the measures taken against it are studied. The study approaches the subject from the position of athletes, in particular representatives of martial arts, taekwondo athletes, and analyses attitudes towards doping, ethical criteria and the level of knowledge. The article presents assessments of doping from the standpoint of health, ethics and legislation and puts forward conclusions and proposals based on the results of a questionnaire and on statistical analyses. The effect of doping agents on the athlete, the current state of national anti-doping policy and the question of protecting the younger generation from this danger have become the main focus of discussion. Recommendations aimed at strengthening the principles of integrity in the sports system are also set out.
