THE SOCIAL SIGNIFICANCE OF THE JADIDS IN THE SECULARIZATION OF SOCIETY: A HISTORICAL AND SOCIAL ANALYSIS ON THE EXAMPLE OF UZBEKISTAN

Abstract
This article examines the social significance of the Jadid movement in the process of the secularisation of society, with an emphasis on the historical context of Uzbekistan in the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries. The influence of Jadidism on the modernisation of the educational system, cultural transformation and the development of national self-consciousness is analysed. Theoretical aspects of social modernisation and secularisation are discussed, and the role of the Jadids as agents of change contributing to the formation of the foundations of a modern secular society is considered.
