PROPERLY ORGANIZING FOLK MEDICINE IS A DEMAND OF THE TIME

Abstract

The necessary information on medicinal plants and the question of cherishing nature are united in the general concept of “Environmental protection”, and within it the question of protecting individual plants is of great importance. Therefore it is first of all necessary to know which plants must be protected. Many workers who deal in one way or another with medicinal plants do not have the education that would enable them to use specialised manuals on medicinal plants. For this reason it is important for those interested in the purposeful study, collection, preparation, cultivation, processing and use of medicinal plants to read and to seek out basic information about the outward appearance of the plants, their growing conditions, their medicinal properties and the possibility of using them. Only then can the advancement of folk medicine be achieved.
