THE PROBLEM OF PROVIDING FIRST MEDICAL AID FOR COMBINED CHEST AND ABDOMINAL TRAUMA AT THE PREHOSPITAL STAGE

Abstract
Combined trauma of the chest and abdomen is one of the most severe types of polytrauma. According to the literature, this type of trauma is accompanied by high mortality reaching 50-80%. The large number of diagnostic errors at the prehospital (30-70%) and hospital (20-50%) stages dictates the need for continuous improvement of diagnostic methods. Doctors experience particularly great difficulties in providing therapeutic and diagnostic care to this contingent of victims at the prehospital stage. There are no clear criteria for choosing the order of diagnostic examinations, and little attention is paid to the prevention of complications and to their prediction.
