CREATION OF CHEMICAL SENSORS AND ALARMS TO ENSURE EXPLOSION AND FIRE SAFETY OF DOMESTIC AND INDUSTRIAL FACILITIES

Abstract
This article presents the results of research on the creation of chemical sensors and alarms that sensitively and selectively detect methane gas in order to ensure explosion and fire safety at industrial and residential facilities. In the course of the research, highly sensitive, selective and stable devices for the detection of methane were developed on the basis of thermocatalytic and semiconductor sensors. The direct proportional relationship between the methane concentration and the sensor signal, as well as the high selectivity of the developed TKS-1 sensor with respect to H₂ and CO gases, were proved experimentally. The sensitivity, speed of response, stability and temperature-dependent error levels of the sensors were also studied, and the possibility of detecting methane concentrations in the range of 0.1–5.0 % was created.
