GEOMETRIC PARAMETERS OF A DEVICE FOR SEPARATING GARLIC BULBS INTO CLOVES

Abstract
The scale of garlic cultivation and of its export is expanding in the territory of our republic. In growing garlic, and in particular in the process of planting it, the operation of separating the garlic bulb into cloves is still being carried out by manual labour. In order to put an end to this manual labour, the development of a device that separates the garlic bulb into cloves has become an important task. Several requirements are set for the making of such a device. It must be convenient to move the manufactured device from one site to another. During the operation of the device it is required that the garlic cloves are not damaged, that the cloves do not become separated from their skin, and that the germinating capacity is not adversely affected.
