ASSESSMENT OF THE INTENSITY OF USE OF GASTROENTEROLOGICAL MEDICINAL PRODUCTS

Abstract
The article presents a study of the intensity of the use of gastroenterological medicinal products (MPs) in a specialised hospital, using the example of patients with chronic pancreatitis. The assessment was carried out using the prescription intensity coefficient (PIC), which made it possible to classify the MPs into three groups depending on the frequency of their use: with high, medium and low power. A relationship was established between the PIC value, the inclusion of the drugs in the list of vital and essential medicinal products (VEMP), and their uniqueness (reference or generic MPs). The results obtained show that rationalisation of the pharmacotherapy of patients with chronic pancreatitis requires an individual approach, consideration of economic aspects and the use of both reference and generic MPs.
