COMPREHENSIVE SURGICAL TREATMENT OF INFECTIOUS COMPLICATIONS OF DIABETES MELLITUS

Abstract
Inflammatory complications of the soft tissues in diabetes mellitus (DM) cause sepsis in 44% of cases. In our observation, the diabetic foot and purulent-inflammatory complications in the soft tissues were diagnosed in 58 patients with DM. Timely diagnosis is a topical issue in the treatment of such dangerous complications. Ultrasound, radiography, Doppler CT and MSCT are used to detect changes in the microvessels in diabetic suppuration of the soft tissues and in diabetic foot syndrome. In patients with diabetes mellitus microangiopathy develops rapidly. In recent years we have abandoned contrast angiography. All our patients underwent surgical treatment within a short time: the detected phlegmonous abscesses were opened, that is, cleaned of necrotic tissues.
