CREATIVE USE OF FOLKLORE GENRES IN THE WORK OF MIKAIL RZAGULUZADE

Abstract

On the basis of the conducted research, the creative merits of Mikail Rzaguluzade are assessed from the standpoint of folklore, the classical heritage and the principles of inheritance. Accordingly, in the literary examples related to children's folklore - fairy tales, legends and tales - noble moral and spiritual values such as decency, love for the Motherland and patriotism, based on the national mentality, are presented to the young generation as the main ideological and aesthetic core, and the active position and approach of the artistic personality is chosen. From this point of view, in the artist's works written in the epic style, the great courage, bravery and fighting spirit of the little heroes are shown at the hot points of events, which is also valued as a manifestation of the writer's creative spirit and of his optimistic faith in the children's world and in their future as healthy citizens. Among the examples that realistically embody Mikail Rzaguluzade's thoughts about the Motherland and the people, about freedom and independence as an artist, the stories written on the basis of the tales of «Kitabi-Dede Korkut», which find links and connections between folklore and the epos and written literature, and its interpretation within the structure of the artistic text, are oriented towards analysis as a skill. The series of stories written by the author, who selected the content of this magnificent monument from the «Oghuznama» series, in simple, comprehensible language and in a style suited to children's psychology, became an important vehicle of modern literary and aesthetic thought; its importance is revealed from the point of view of realising its possibilities. Along with the prose works of the writer, who wrote and created in various genres of the epic kind, the study also revealed the merits that bring new qualities and nuances to the structure, theme, plot and motivation of his poems.
