Abstract

This article analyzes the pedagogical possibilities of chess training in the formation and improvement of students’ professional and career-oriented competencies. The importance of chess in developing such key competencies as strategic thinking, problem-solving decision-making, concentration, and planning is scientifically substantiated. The research results show that chess training helps develop students’ analytical thinking, leadership, logical analysis and independent decision-making skills. In addition, the methodological approach developed on the basis of chess training helps increase students’ readiness for professional activity.
